Microsoft debuted a new Assasin’s Creed Origins trailer during Xbox’s live stream at Gamescom 2017. You can watch the trailer below.
The trailer begins with a rotting scorpion being devoured by little bugs. This was a stunning scene as the detail of the scorpion and the bugs along with the bustling of the Egyptian background really showed off the power of the Xbox One X.
Next, we see soldiers carrying what one can assume is Egyptian royalty and the scene cuts to a line of peasants lining up for some face time with the Pharoah. The detail of the Pharoah’s face was striking. You could see the stubble and pores on his face.
The scene then cuts to the Mummification process happening inside the pyramids which are just being built. We then get a look at Cleopatra who, along with Julius Cesar, will be a main point in the campaign.
The Egyptian royalty we’re originally introduced to being in the trailer, who’s bring carried by guards, is suddenly assassinated by the main character Bayek. He then proceeds to slaughter the royal guards.
One thing was apparent, Bayek is badass as hell.
He then walks to his target’s body who seemingly turned into a snake? There’s been a number of scenes from the different trailers that we’ve had the pleasure of watching that kind of hint towards some sort of magic or sorcery. It makes me wonder if we’ll get some scientific explanation for stuff like a man turning into a snake or if there’s actual magic in the game.
The ancient Egyptian world that Ubisoft has created is certainly colorful, mystical and looks like it’ll be an absolute pleasure to explore.
The level of detail in the game is only enhanced by the power of the Xbox One X.
Assasin’s Creed Origins will be available October 27th on Xbox One and PS4, while the Xbox One X version of the game will be available November 7th when the console releases.
